The IATF 16949:2016 automotive quality management system is a set of standards for the automotive industry. It is based on the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system and provides additional requirements for the automotive sector. The standard is used by OEMs and Tier 1, 2, and 3 suppliers to establish a Quality Management System that demonstrates their ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
This standard has been developed by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF), which is a group of automotive industry experts from around the world.
